Each winter, the gray whales migrate 6,000 miles from Alaska to Baja, where they The River Guidess welcomes Suzanne Sterling and Dana DeLong, among an extraordinary cast of Bay Area teachers and artists, to this winter's series of four joyful journeys of communion with the whales ... |
March 2-7, 2007: Yoga, Breathwork, Sacred Song & Ceremony .. Cost: $1395 Our group will fly into and spend the first night in Loreto, then the next morning we will be shuttled over to Magdalena Bay, where the California Gray Whales breed, birth and raise their young each winter. We then paddle 20 minutes over to a pristine and exclusive, comfortable island base camp, at the edge of the mangrove estuaries. On the next 2 mornings, we venture out for close-up encounters with the whales by panga (motorized skiff), and in the afternoons, we'll kayak in the mangroves, led by expert guides who will point out several species of exotic birds along the way. Throughout our time together, Suzanne and Dana will support an experience of connecting with ourselves and our community through a dynamic blend of yoga, transformational breathwork, singing, chanting and sacred ceremony. |

They will bring a focus to freeing the natural voice, developing awareness of the breath, clearing the emotional body, listening to our innate wisdom, allowing our creativity to expand, and tapping into our sacred self and our connection with the Divine. This week will include: • Simple and precise daily yoga practice (all levels welcome) • Expressing the authentic and natural voice • Mantra and sound healing - awakening and refining the subtle energy body through toning, chanting and singing • Sacred Ritual * Flute Meditations (whales & dolphins are attracted to the flute's resonance) * Clarity Breathwork(TM): A powerful modality of conscious-connected breathing that releases old patterns and beliefs from the very cells of our bodies, liberating our true potential, beauty and light. This will be a safe place to improvise, play, breathe, move and let go ... to sing in harmony with others and share your own unique song. There is no experience necessary ... just a desire to find soul freedom and joy through sound, movement and breath! Whales are said to be the carriers of the ancient songs. Their stories are passed down through the generations and echo in the fluid depths of the world's oceans. Come be in communion with these powerful beings and discover your own songs, your own depths, and your own body wisdom. About the facilitators: Suzanne Sterling ...
