"The evening I spent listening to the river, soaking in the beautiful crescent moon and planets in the ‘v’ of the canyon, was one of the most peaceful evenings of my life. And I got to experience this within an incredibly creative, fun, and safe group container. I wanted to do ‘nothing’ and did exactly that, shedding tons of overwhelm and overload in the process. The sense of relief stayed with me long after my return. I am so grateful for the way you organized the camp and our trip together, and happy that I joined you on this journey." — Genie Ohashi, Novato "Gail brings together heart connections and community on the leading edge of cultural change. A tenderness comes alive along the river as we accept that we don't have all the answers, but in collaboration, we can find the courage to...act on potential solutions." — Sheryl Sever, Oakland, Leading Visions to Action |

Reconnect with Nature, Self, and Conscious Community, at the 14th annual Featuring: A note from Gail, the RiverGuidess: In late February of this year, upon returning from 3 months of travel in New Zealand and Costa Rica, I was moved to train as a facilitator of the Symposium called "Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream," an educational outreach curriculum designed by the Pachamama Alliance. I dedicate this year's trip to the spirit of the Symposium, by inviting ATD facilitators, along with their friends and families, and all who feel aligned with its mission to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on Planet Earth. For more, visit awakeningthedreamer.org In addition to relaxation, rejuvenation ... and rafting (optional), the weekend portion of this trip will include facilitation in Joanna Macy's "Work that Reconnects." What better place to do this piece of work than in the heart of Mother Earth! The Hopi elders' have said it's time to "let go of the shore, push off into the river, get our feet up, look around to see who's there with us ... and celebrate!" And together we will do just that! On Sunday afternoon, those who remain will open the circle to new arrivals from the nearby NCDC Dance Camp, who will join our community through Tuesday. Rafting day-trip options are available on both Saturday and Monday. I strongly suggest staying for the whole experience. Once you arrive in Paradise, you won't want to leave ... In flow, P.S. Pre-registration is required for this trip and is limited to 45 participants. It's likely to fill fast, so register asap if you want to come! ~* ~* ~* ~* ~* For up to 5 days & 4 nights, we'll live in harmony along the river's edge. Just know that once you settle in, you'll not want to leave. So clear your decks and take the plunge for the full stay! Spend quality time with friends old and new, as well as several exceptional faciliitators, artists, musicians and healers (listed below). Immersed in the energy of the river — and through their offerings — we'll soar to new heights and depths of connection with ourselves, each other, and Mother Earth! Enjoy secluded and spacious riverside camping beneath a crystal clear, star-filled sky (sleep in your tent or out on a tarp for stargazing), and warm summer nights around the fire with our creative, spirited community. With our closest neighbors WAY downstream, we can play music, drum, and sing around the fire deep into the night ... At the Kings, air temps range from the upper-80's to the low-100's. Yes, it's hot and dry, and the river's cold and fresh. Whether rafting or resting ... you'll feel refreshed, awake & alive as you dip in and out throughout the day. Easily accessible from either Northern or Southern California, this is a convenient spot to meet up with friends and family you don't see often enough ... Leave home on Friday morning to have plenty of time to set up your campsite during daylight hours, take a swim, then relax before a healthy and delectable dinner. Ready for whitewater fun and excitement? Prefer to remain on the shore? Want to spend more time in this beautiful area of California? On that note, you may already know that for quite a few years now, many folks from the nearby NCDC Summer Dance Camp have joined us at the river once dance camp ends (from Sunday thru Tuesday, PART 2 of this trip). If time at camp is in your plans, complete that with a SPLASH at the KINGS! ~* ~* ~* ~* ~* ~* ~* ~* Bring your talents, poems, stories, instruments, drums, games and flow toys to the River ... PLUS that book you've been meaning to read ... Participate in group activities, or sleep the day away ... The evenings are a time to gather around the fire, or just sit quietly beside the river gazing at the stars. Connect with nature, self, and each other through these (optional) offerings ~ Joanna Macy's "Work That Reconnects" ~ facilitated by Lynne Michelson Early in life, Lynne Michelson spent 2 years in Europe, lived in an intentional community and studied with some of the world’s eminent spiritual teachers. She has taught meditation, awakening practices and transformational psychology. Lynne has been a psychotherapist and relationship coach for over 15 years, a workshop facilitator, a national speaker, and created several non-profits that bring community, service, and fun together. Her passion for empowering change agents deepened through her study with Joanna Macy and finds the Work that Reconnects a powerful model for inspiration. Sacred Flutes, Chanting, and Breathwork ~ with Dana ~DharmaDevi~ DeLong Ecstatic Fireside Poetry ~ with Dreaming Bear Kanaan He draws his audiences in using language laced with erotically nuanced temptations that morph into personalized challenges to de-evolve the socialized bounds of our ego and re-evolve from the place of infinite possibilities into the person you've always known you could be but never had the courage to really, really let loose. He sets "poetically timed detonations of ego-destroying devices" as he animates the room with his physicality and entrances his participants with pregnant poetic prose made of liquid Love that explodes like dynamism in the hearts of those around him. To learn more, visit www.dreamingbear.net On this trip, become entranced beneath a star-filled sky by Dreaming Bear's Ecstatic Fireside Poetry. He may also lead daytime nature walks and inspirational talks for those who are not rafting. Private sessions will be available as requested.
