In the Bay Area, I'm known as "the RiverGuidess," having shared the lessons and
the joys of whitewater with hundreds of kindred spirits since 1993.
As a whitewater rafting guide(ss), I've come to know the ways of the river. And as a bodyworker, I've found that what the river demonstrates about energy-in-motion (or stagnation!) also applies to the body. Through metaphor and in practice, the river continues to be my greatest teacher.
My clients say I have strong yet fluid hands. In my work, I combine deep (or gentle, as needed) Swedish/Esalen massage and Polarity Therapy (energy healing), seasoned with a well-honed intuition developed over years of reading rivers, people AND their bodies.
I work deeply yet sensitively, always tuning in to a person's "current" - yet ever-changing - needs. I read bodies like I read whitewater . . . In my hands, you'll feel safe & well cared for. I'll encourage you to breathe more fully — especially into your constrictions — as breath is the key to mobilizing stuck energy. You'll leave my studio feeling refreshed, renewed and energized. Ready, in fact, to go with the flow as you take on your next set of rapids with grace and with ease!
Upon request , I'll use my hot river stones in your session. A perfect de-tox and melt-down for your body and soul, they'll warm your body and take the chill out of your bones. Some of the stones are placed on strategic points on the body, while others are used as tools for soothing and smoothing. They're great for those extra-dense knots! Hot stones will melt your muscles in the first few minutes, leaving you in blissful relaxation for the rest of your massage . . .
